Korea Town Acid

Korea Town Acid is a Toronto-based, South Korean-born producer, artist, and Red Bull Music Academy alumna. A classically trained pianist and participant in the prestigious Keychange international program, she is a pioneering force in avant-garde electronics, fusing club, hip-hop, and breakbeat with the improvisational spirit of free-jazz, cinematic sound design, and abstract glitch textures.

Known for her fearless electronic exploration, she commands attention with hardware-heavy Live PA sets, visionary DJing, and boundary-pushing production. Her influence is highlighted by her 2026 JUNO nomination for Electronic Album of the Year for "Glow Up", following a 2022 JUNO nomination for Underground Dance Single of the Year "Sobriety". Her prolific output includes six studio albums and a production credit on Cadence Weapon's 2021 Polaris Music Prize-winning album, Parallel World.

A master of her craft, she has worked in partnership with industry leaders Ableton and Roland Canada to push the limits of music technology and performance. Her global footprint spans Seoul, Athens, Bilbao, Berlin, London, New York, Riyadh, Lyon and Helsinki, with landmark performances at MUTEK Montreal, Nuits Sonores, MDL BEAST, BIME, TIFF, Porsche Scope, and Louis Vuitton Seoul. Founder of Groovy Lab International, her work is championed by CBC, BBC Radio 1, NTS, Worldwide FM, Rinse France, The Lot Radio, Seoul Community Radio, Visla FM, and HKCR. She has shared stages with a world-class roster including Yaeji, Thundercat, Takuya Nakamura, Floating Points, Overmono, Objekt, Leon Vynehall, Helena Hauff, Fred P, Kyle Hall, Moma Ready, Move D, 250, DJ Soulscape, Yetsuby as well as a masterclass with synth pioneer Suzanne Ciani.
