Safety
Code of conduct
Goal
The festival team, in partnership with several local professional organizations, has implemented safety and awareness measures to ensure that all participants can enjoy the event and feel comfortable at all times. The goal is to enable all festivalgoers to participate in the festivities in complete safety.
Victim
If you are a victim of misconduct during the festival:
⟶ Do not stay alone.
⟶ Locate an identified responder, volunteer, first aid, or security personnel.
⟶ If possible, go to the safe space.
Witness
If you witness misconduct during the festival:
⟶ Do not leave the victim alone and remain attentive to their needs.
⟶ Do not put yourself in danger and respect your own limits.
⟶ Inform someone wearing an identified shirt, a volunteer, first aid, or security.
⟶ If possible, go to the safe space, but do not force the victim to move.
Consult or download the Code of Conduct developed in collaboration with Festif & Safe.
Safe spaces / First aid
A safe space is an area dedicated to welcoming people who have witnessed or been victims of violent, discriminatory, or oppressive behavior, or simply anyone who needs calm, a listening ear, and guidance.
These clearly identified spaces are set up at the main festival sites to offer refuge to people who feel uncomfortable or unsafe. These spaces allow festivalgoers to quickly and easily access support from professional staff.
Support staff & mediators
CALACS & community workers
Trained support staff are present at festival sites to provide assistance in problematic situations. These persons can be identified by their Festif & Safe shirts and are available to provide help or support.
BleuBleu team
The festival team and volunteers are offered training on how to welcome and guide victims or witnesses of assault or misconduct.
First Aid / FUMAM
A first aid team is present at larger venues and available on call from other venues.
ASecurity Agents / Sécurité BSL Ltée
The role of security agents is to ensure the overall safety of the event, control access to different areas, and respond quickly to any emergency or incident.
Table de concertation féministe GÎM
Through the Festif & Safe initiative, the Table de concertation féministe provides festivalgoers with professional resources specializing in sexual violence, harassment, and other similar issues. They are responsible for training volunteers and festival staff, raising awareness of these issues, and providing them with the skills they need to respond appropriately.
Zero Tolerance Policy
No discriminatory comments or behavior based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, social class, physical or mental ability, age, or any other form of discrimination will be tolerated. We take disrespectful behavior and harassment very seriously, and we reserve the right to immediately expel anyone who does not comply with this standard.
If you witness an inappropriate or suspicious event, we encourage you to immediately notify a member of staff or security. Caring for others is a shared responsibility, and we need your help to ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
Artisan Market
Mission
By offering festivalgoers a selection of unique, sustainable, and authentic products, BleuBleu aims to promote the work of creators from Baie-des-Chaleurs and Gaspésie. The market brings together about twenty artisans under its tent, and for the occasion, the municipal beach becomes a real hub for people to meet.
Applications
Applications for the 2026 edition of the artisan market are currently closed. Stay tuned for the next call for applications.
